Building Capacities to use Community Radio for Non-Formal Learning in Nigeria is an essential initiative designed to leverage local, accessible media to bridge educational gaps, particularly for rural, underserved, and marginalized populations. Given that over 60% of Nigerians live in rural areas and face challenges accessing formal education, community radio serves as a vital tool for delivering non-formal education (NFE), promoting literacy, and fostering community development.

Building a Peace Architecture in the Niger Delta for 2015 and Beyond

Funded by the European Union, Tomorrow is a New Day – Phase II strengthened peacebuilding efforts in 12 communities across four Niger Delta states in Nigeria. Building on Phase I, the project reduced youth tensions, supported peaceful elections, and strengthened local decision-making structures. It successfully improved trust, relationships, and attitudes toward non-violence through training, dialogue, and mediation. The programme contributed to peaceful elections, increased civic awareness, and greater participation of women in some areas. Despite its impact, implementation faced challenges, including budget constraints that limited some expected outcomes.
